Image removed.Al Azhar College of Pharmacy Report on the Inauguration of NSS Unit The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Al Azhar College of Pharmacy was officially inaugurated on 1st July 2025 at the dental college seminar hall in a grand and inspiring function organized by the college management in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The program commenced at 10:30 AM with a welcome address by Dr.Adithya, NSS Program Officer,Al-Azhar Dental College who highlighted the vision and objectives of NSS – fostering the spirit of volunteerism, social responsibility, and national development among students.The session was enlightened by Dr.Somasekharan.B.Pillai through his valuable words. The function was formally inaugurated by Dr.Anzer RS ,State NSS officer . In his keynote address, the chief guest emphasized the importance of youth involvement in community service and the role of NSS in shaping socially responsible citizens. Dr.Shyam Kumar .B Principal of Al Azhar College of Pharmacy, presided over the function and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly formed NSS unit. He encouraged the students to actively participate in NSS activities and contribute towards social welfare and community health initiatives. Following this, a special felicitation was given by Arun Chandramohan , NSS programme officer ,Al -Azhar College of Pharmacy to the dignitaries and NSS student volunteers for their commitment and enthusiasm. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Pravin , NSS programme officer, Al- Azhar Medical College, expressing gratitude to the management, faculty, and students for making the event a grand success. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter of social outreach and community engagement at Al Azhar College of Pharmacy through the NSS platform.

World Food Safety Day 2025 was observed on 13th June 2025 by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Al Azhar College of Pharmacy, in association with the Food Safety Department, Idukki District. The event, held at the Private Bus Stand, Thodupuzha at 10:00 AM, was inaugurated by Smt. V. Vigneswari IAS, Honourable Collector of Idukki. The theme for this year was “Food Safety: Science in Action,” highlighting the importance of scientific approaches in ensuring safe food practices. The program aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of safe and nutritious food in preventing health issues like obesity. The slogan “Stop Obesity, Fight Obesity, Eat Safe and Healthy” captured the essence of the campaign and encouraged healthier dietary choices among the public.

IQACof Al Azhar College of Pharmacy successfully organized a 5-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from 17th June 21st June at the college seminar hall. The programme aimed to enhance the teaching, research, and professional skills of faculty members and was conducted under the guidance of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

The theme of the FDP was “Innovative Teaching Strategies and Academic Excellence”. The sessions were designed to provide faculty members with exposure to emerging pedagogical methods, curriculum development, digital tools in education, and research methodologies.INAGURATION OF FDP

MANAGING DIRECTOR GIVING MESSAGE TO NSS VOLUNTEERS AND STUDENTSPLANTING SAPLINGSPLANTING SAPLINGS BY NSS VOLUNTEERSOn the occasion of World Environment Day, Al Azhar College of Pharmacy organized a meaningful and eco-conscious event on June 5th, 2025. The event was coordinated by the NSS Unit of the college and aimed at raising awareness about environmental protection and promoting sustainable practices among students and staff. The highlight of the program was the sapling plantation drive, which was inaugurated by the respected Managing Director of Al Azhar Group of Institutions, Adv.Mijas K M. The Managing Director planted the first sapling, marking the official commencement of the event and symbolizing the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship. NSS volunteers, faculty members, and students actively participated in the event by planting various types of saplings within the college campus. The activity not only beautified the surroundings but also instilled a sense of responsibility toward nature inthe minds of the participants.

World No Tobacco Day     M: As part of the observance of World No Tobacco Day, Al Azhar College of Pharmacy hosted a meaningful awareness program on May 31, 2025, organized in collaboration with the District Medical Office. The event marked the district-level inauguration of the "Arogyam Anandam 2.0" campaign, which was officially inaugurated by the District Collector, Ms. V. Vignashwary IAS. 

The program focused on raising awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and promoting a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle among students and the general public. Several impact activities were conducted during the event:

  •  "Manushyachangala" (Human Chain): Students and staff formed a human chain as a symbol of unity in the fight against tobacco use.
  • Poster Publication: Informative posters created by students were unveiled, emphasisingSignature Campaignflag raising ceremony the dangers of tobacco consumption and encouraging prevention.
  • Signature Campaign: Participants signed a pledge wall as a personal commitment to abstain from tobacco use and support tobacco-free communities.
  • Pledge Against Tobacco Use: A collective anti-tobacco pledge was taken by all attendees, reinforcing their commitment to a healthy and tobacco-free lifestyle. 

The program successfully instilled awareness and responsibility among the participants, highlighting the vital role of youth in building a healthier society free from tobacco.

Al Azhar College of Pharmacy, in association with the IQAC and the Women Empowerment Club, celebrated Mother’s Day with great enthusiasm. As part of the celebration, a letter-writing competition titled "Ammakkoru Kathu" (A Letter to Mother) was conducted to encourage students to express their love and gratitude toward their mothers through heartfelt letters. The initiative successfully highlighted the importance of nurturing emotional expression and cultural values among students.

The farewell for the 2020 B.Pharm batch at Al Azhar College of Pharmacy was held on 11th April 2025, organized with great enthusiasm by the seventh semester B.Pharm students. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the outgoing batch, featuring emotional memory-sharing sessions that reflected on their journey and cherished moments at the college. Various fun-filled games and interactive activities were conducted, adding joy and laughter to the occasion. National Immunization Day 2025 Al Azhar College of Pharmacy observed on 17th March 2025 with an awareness talk on the National Immunization Schedule. The session, organized by IQAC in association with the Pharmacy Practice Department, was conducted at the Seminar Hall. Ms. Sini Mol S, JPHN, CHC, Kumaramangalam, led the session, providing valuable insights into the importance of immunization and its role in public health.
