An awareness program on drug abuse ( No to Drugs) was conducted on 20th January 2023 at
Al azhar College of pharmacy, Thodupuzha mainly focused on B Pharm freshers 2022 batch to
spread awareness on drug abuse among students.
The principal Dr. Syam Kumar B introduced the resource person Mohammed Riyaz, nodal
officer, vimukti who gave a magnificent speech on drug abuse. He discussed various aspects of
drug abuse emphasizing causes, prevention, treatment and how to seek professional help. The
program ended with a wonderful interactive session where the students interacted with the
speaker clarifying their doubts and asking interesting questions.
Approximately 60 participants attended the class including students and faculties. It was an
informative and useful session for the participants. This program was coordinated with the
support of the principal and IQAC committee.

CAROL SONGChristmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on
December 25th as a religious and cultural celebration, which was celebrated in Al azhar college
of pharmacy on 23rd December 2022. All students, teaching and non teaching staff participated
in the event.
This celebration started with Nasik dol at sharp 9:00 a.m. Mrs Sari S Nair, vice principal, Al
azhar College of pharmacy welcomed all. Adv. K M Mijas, MD, Al
azhar group of institutions inaugurated the event by cake cutting. Dr. Syam Kumar B, principal,
Al azhar College of pharmacy and Mrs Ponnamma Babu, Head of DHI were delivered Christmas and New Year greetings to the college.
Students performed various cultural programs like carol song, dance etc. and also conducted
various games . At 4:00 p.m. the program came to an end by vote of thanks. This
celebration was really a memorable experience to students and faculties.

Al azhar College of pharmacy conducted a field visit to primary health center, kumaramangalam
on 25th January 2023 for the first year d pharm students as a part of their syllabus.
First of all, they visited the pharmacy section. From there, they got detailed information about
drugs, their storage conditions, arrangements, how to dispense medicines and record
maintenance etc. The pharmacist in the PSC explained in detail about the whole pharmacy. She
was very supportive and friendly.
Next, they went to the immunization department. There was a preliminary examination room
and vaccination room. Students deeply observed more about how to handle and take
vaccination properly. The nurses in the vaccination room were very cooperative and informative.
Around 50 participants attended this field visit including students and faculties for their support.
This program was coordinated with the support of the principal and IQAC committee.

Every year, on 1st December, the world commemorates World AIDS day. People around the
world unite to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died
from AIDS related illness.
On the occasion of AIDS day, HIV AIDS awareness magic show was conducted on 12th
December 2022 at Al azhar college of pharmacy presented by magician Rajeev Memunda,
Vadakara "Miracle Magic Entertainers". Various information about AIDS  conveyed simply through various magic shows.
Around 100 participants attended the show including students and faculty members. It was an
informative awareness session to all participants.

Faculty development programs focused on enhancing teacher-student rapport ,improving one's
classroom delivery both as a teacher and trainer. These programmes enable a facully to
expand the faculty role. Mr.Titus Sir from  Al Azhar Teachers training
institute,  was the resource person.
Dr. Shyamkumar B, Principal of al azhar college of pharmacy addressed all the delegates and dignatories. The 2 hour  session was completed at 3.00 pm

Al azhar group of institutions conducted a one day workshop based on NAAC accreditation on
2nd July 2022 at Al azhar dental College.
The principal Dr. Samuel Rajan, Al azhar College of Pharmacy, inaugurated the orientation
program and the presidential address by Dr Somasekharan, coordinator, IQAC.
There were three sections in the program. The resource person Dr. Ajith Ramrau thete, former
joint director education- government of Maharashtra conducted the first session on the topic
assessment and accreditation process. Dr. Ajit Ramrau continued the second session in the
absence of resource person
Dr. Priyambada Sarangi, prof. Isham Institute of Pharmacy, UP. He delivered valuable
information about the NAAC accreditation process, criterion requirements and standards. It was
very informative and useful.
Dr. Shine Das, former joint director e-governance, KTU conveyed requirements and
standards for health Sciences, integrated and wholistic approach to accreditation. He explained
how to crack a higher score for each criteria through several examples.It was a wonderful
session.
One day NAAC orientation programme was ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Litto Manuel, Al
azhar Dental college. Around 50 faculties of different departments of Al azhar group of
institutions i.e., pharmacy, law, arts and science, dental etc. participated. This program was very
informative and useful. This program was conducted with the support of Al azhar group of
institutions and the IQAC committee.
